April 2, 1937 – June 23, 2019
Henry Perry Brendle was born on April 2, 1937 in Coalinga, California. Henry had been struggling with lung disease for the past several years and passed away June 23, 2019 in Taft surrounded by his loved ones Toodie and Stacy.
Henry is survived by his wife, Toodie Brendle, whom he shared more than 56 happily married years. He is also survived by his niece Stacy Mounce and her husband Tom Mounce of Taft, nephews Larry Fields of Bakersfield and Steve Fields and his wife Gail also of Taft, Great Nephews, Sawyer Mounce and Adam Mounce and his wife Bilynda and Great Great Nephews Keaghan and Wyatt Mounce and numerous close friends and acquaintances . Henry was preceded in death by his mother-in- law Edith Jeffress and most recently his brother-in-law Buck Jeffress in March of this year.
Henry spent over 60 years living in Taft. He worked for ARCO as a Supervisor for more than 30 years where he was well known and respected for being an honest, hard-working man. Henry retired in 1994 and moved to Bass Lake full time shortly thereafter. He enjoyed his retirement and lived life to the fullest.
Henry was an avid golfer and a professional BS’r. He could tease you to the point of tears and bring you back crying with laughter. He had a huge heart and is known for being a “Good Man.” There wasn’t much that Henry couldn’t do or fix for you. He spent a lot of his time enjoying retirement and traveling with Toodie in their motorhome while spending time with his family and friends. Summer evenings you could find Henry sitting on the deck of his Bass Lake home enjoying the sunset with his wife and listening to the sound of the motor boats on the water.
We would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of life for Henry at the Oakhurst Elks Lodge located at 42484 CA 41, Oakhurst, California 93644 on July 27, 2019 at 1:30pm. We would ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hoffman Hospice in Bakersfield, California.
