Laverne Wise passed away in the presence of three loved ones on March 4th, 2021 at 12:31 PM at Mercy Downtown Hospital. A longtime resident of Kern County, she was a survivor of the polio epidemic of the 1940s and lived her life conquering everything that stood in her way. Despite being told she may never have children, she is survived by her companion Bill, daughter Kim, grandchildren Mark, Christopher, Amber, and Destiny, great grandchildren Chaleb, Laura, Corbin, Cadence, Aiden, Serenity, Danni, Shylee, Bracken, Paisley, and numerous others, and great great grandchild Taylin.
She was a mother and homemaker in life and helped take care of, raise, and fed those beyond her family and would always take care of those in need. There would never be an empty table or stomach around her if she could help it and shelter them if need be. She will be missed by many family members and loved ones and is now home with her late sons Marshall and Joel, husband Raymond, mother Edith, father Charles, and uncountable others.
Her graveside services will be held on Friday, March 12th 2021 at 2:00 PM at West Side Cemetery (440 E Cedar St., Taft, CA 93268).
