Wildcats continuing to keep their winning streak
"The Wildcats continue to dominate SSL play by winning their fourth league match in a row on Thursday at North Kern. An outstanding 9-holes from Junior Macayla Wells and solid play from the rest of the team resulted in another easy win for the Cats." Coach Cowan said. "Wells fired an impressive 2-over par 38, including a four putt double bogey on hole #2. After that, she quickly bounced back with a couple solid pars and a bogey on the difficult par 3 5th to finish her round. Her work at the golf course outside of practice is paying off, and her teammates are recognizing that and are starting to follow suit. Her positive attitude and work ethic are contagious, and are benefitting the whole squad. It's great to see." exclaimed Cowan. Individual Scores: Macayla Wells 38 Tayler Portenga 50 Briley Wheeler 53 Willow Pilgrim 62 Trenadee Price 64 Chloe Dodson 70 Team Scores: Wildcats 267 Chavez 322 Kennedy 327 Wasco 346 Shafter 350 Arvin 365 McFarland No Score (3 players) "Also impressive were Briley Wheeler and Tayler Portenga, who both suffered insect stings on the course over the last couple days and powered through the pain and swelling to finish with strong scores. Most other players would've called it quits, but these girls are true Wildcats and don't give up." stated a proud Cowan. Next league match is next Thursday at Kern River.
