This win puts Wildcats at 6-2 in league play

Last Tuesday, the varsity volleyball team hosted the Shafter Generals and won the contest 3-1. Taft took the first set 25-23, the second set 25-16. Shafter won the third set 26-24 and Taft won the fourth set 25-12.

The Wildcats had 41 kills during the game. Rylee Mizener led the team with 16, Bree Johansen had 10, Brooke Ashmore had nine. Mahaila Laulu finished the game with three, Estefanie Gil, Morgan Pulido and Breann Bracken all ended the game with one.

The team served up 14 aces during the game. Ashmore and Mizner led the team with three apiece, Pulido, Johansen and Gladys Valdivia each finished with two. There were also four blocks in the game coming from Bracken who had two and Laulu and Mizener who both had one.

This win puts the Wildcats at 6-2 in league play and still in second place behind undefeated Arvin. The girls next game will be a home match against the McFarland Cougars.
