Human remains, submerged vehicle found at Buena Vista Lake

The Kern County Sheriff has recovered a vehicle and bones from Buena Vista lake.

The Sheriff was first called to the lake Sunday evening about 7:15 when swimmers found a bone.

They returned today with with divers from the Sheriff's Search and Rescue team and divers located a submerged vehicle in the water near where the bone was located.  

A tow truck was used to pull the vehicle from the lake.

The KCSO said additional human remains were located inside of the vehicle.  At this time, the identity of the remains is unknown, the Sheriff said.

The vehicle is related to a missing person report out of southern California from approximately three years ago. according to the KCSO.  The identity of the remains will be released by the Coroner's Office at a later time.

It is not known if this discovery is related to the lower leg and foot found at the lake several years ago
