Driver arrested after Tuesday night crash in Ford City
Two teenagers were injured and one was charged with drunk driving after a late night accident in Ford City.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place just after midnight on the 100 block of Monroe.
A 2000 Toyota Celica driven by Luis Angel Martinez, 18, of Taft, was northbound on Monroe just north of Ash Street when Martinez allowed the vehicle to drift to the right side of the road and onto the shoulder where it struck two parked cars and a fence.
Martinez and a passenger, a 16-year-old whose name was not released, both suffered minor injuries.
Martinez was taken to Kern Medical for treatment of minor injuries by the CHP then booked into jail on charges of felony drunk driving causing injury, driving without a license and no proof of insurance. The passenger was taken to Mercy Southwest by ambulance.
