Taft COVID-19 count now at 121 with 58 active cases
The dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases in Taft and Kern County continues.
There were 121 total cases in the Taft area, the Kern County Health Department reported Tuesday, an increase of 31 cases since last week and eight in just the past 24 hours.
Kern County surpassed the 10,000-case mark on Tuesday when 834 new cases were reported, increasing the total to 10,068.
The county now has 5,189 active cases.
As of Monday, there were 164 people hospitalized and another 4,920 active COVID-19 cases isolating at home. The death toll for Kern remains at 105
In western Kern County, Taft has 58 active cases and 63 people have recovered.
Maricopa added another case and now has six total cases with three recoveries.
