McKittrick School closed by COVID

McKittrick School campus has been closed after a positive COVID-19 test and students will be returning to distance learning model until the end of the month.

"It was somebody in the McKittrick School community," Superintendent Barry Koerner said Monday.

He declined to be more specific, citing HIPPA laws.

Parents of students at the school were notified by email on Sunday.

"Dear Parents/and Guardians of McKittrick Elementary School," the email said. "We want to make you aware that we were notified a couple of hours ago that an individual in our school community has tested positive for COVID19. Due to privacy laws, we are limited in the information we can provide. We urge you also to respect the privacy of our students and staff. There will be no school tomorrow, November 16th On-campus instruction will resume on November 30th. The teachers will contact you tomorrow with details."

School was already going to be out the week of November 23-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
