An exciting new door of opportunity has opened for students at Taft College.

That door is an innovative podcast called “Taft Talks.”

The “talks” are interactive zoom meetings.

The meetings enable Taft College students to engage with experts and speakers from a wide range of jobs, careers, and new fields of opportunity now available in Kern County.

The “Talks” focus especially on energy, technology, and health care.

The first three “Taft Talks” have already enabled students to interact with representatives and explore careers with such firms, including Aera Energy, LLC, Geekwise Academy, A Bitwise Company and COPE Health Scholars

The next Taft Talk will be Nov.18 at Noon on ZOOM, and will feature discussions with leaders from Taft College Career Technical Education who will cover details of the many degrees and certificates. Including Dental Hygiene, Early Childhood Education, and Energy and Industrial Electronics.

The “Talks” are co-hosted by the college’s student body president, Joshua Vasquez, and by the Executive Director of the Taft College Foundation, Sheri Horn-Bunk.

This new series is sponsored by The Taft College Foundation, which is supported by business leaders and visionary entrepreneurs from throughout Kern County.
