Update: California Valley fire 50 percent contained
The fire burning in the California Valley had burned about 125 acres and was 50 percent contained by 4 p.m. Friday, Cal Fire reported.
Investigators determined the fire started because of faulty electrical wiring associated with a residential water well booster pump.
Cal Fire and the BLM teamed up to halt the fire with the aid of air tankers. No injuries have been reported.
